Frederick's Biography
Frederick McCarthy has over 20 years of extensive experience in real estate
development, corporate finance and strategy and business development. Frederick is the
Founder and Managing Member of Vertical Fields Capital LLC and, since 2010, has lead the
company’s efforts to acquire and develop more than 1 million square feet of
self-storage.
From 2007 to 2010, Frederick was the founder and Managing Director of FlexBox Self Storage,
a 40€ million developer and operator of self storage facilities in France, Italy and Switzerland.
His other projects in real estate have included approximately $50 million invested in
residential developments or repositionings in South Florida, New York and Boston.
Frederick began his career as an investment banker at BT. Alex. Brown, raising debt
financing and providing mergers & acquisitions advisory to Financial Sponsor clients.
Frederick earned a Master of Science in Real Estate Development from Columbia
University and a Bachelor of Arts from Brown University.

Starts FlexBox Self Storage, a self storage acquisition and development company headquartered in France and focused on select cities in France, Italy and Switzerland
